For authors

Hear your manuscript read aloud

Your eyes forgive a draft. Your ears don’t. Drop the DOCX or EPUB, pick a narrator and hear every clunky line, echoed word and dragging scene, chapter by chapter.

Your ears catch what your eyes skip

By the tenth read you see what you meant, not what you wrote. A narrator reads exactly what is on the page. The repeated word, the sentence that runs out of breath, the line no person would ever say out loud: you hear them the first time.
Your headings become chapters, so you jump straight to the scene you rewrote last night. Switch narrators to hear the same passage in another voice or accent.

A revision loop that takes minutes

1.
Export the draft as DOCX (Word, Google Docs, Scrivener) or EPUB (Vellum, Atticus). Heading styles become chapters.
2.
Drop it here. Narration starts in seconds.
3.
Listen with the text on screen. The spoken sentence is highlighted, so you spot the line, fix it and keep going.
4.
Drop the next draft whenever it is ready. Every version sits in your library.

Questions people ask

Is my manuscript private?

Yes. Your draft lives in your private library, is used only to narrate it for you, is never used to train voices, and is gone when you delete it.

Can I download my draft as an audiobook?

Yes. In the Editor, choose Download audiobook for one file with chapters, cover and details (M4B, MP3, Opus or WAV). English drafts can be narrated free with Standard voices, other languages with Premium voices from your plan’s Premium hours. Free includes 1 download, Listener 3, Premium 15 and Ultra unlimited.

Can I publish or sell the audio?

No. Book2Speech is for personal listening: hearing and polishing your own work, not producing a retail audiobook.

Will my Scrivener or Vellum chapters come through?

Yes, when they are exported as real headings (Heading styles in DOCX, chapters in EPUB). Chapter titles on a line of their own are usually picked up too.
