How to listen to an EPUB on iPhone

Share the EPUB to Book2Speech, pick a narrator, press play. Your book is talking in under a minute, with chapters and lock-screen controls.

With Book2Speech

1.
Get Book2Speech from the App Store and sign in.
2.
Open the EPUB in Files, Mail or Safari, tap Share, then Book2Speech. Or open the app, tap Create and choose the file.
3.
Pick a narrator. Every one has a sample, and voices in the book’s language come first.
4.
Press play. The book keeps going with the screen locked, and speed, sleep timer, bookmarks and the read-along text are all in the player.

Get the EPUB onto your phone

•
AirDrop it from your Mac, or save it to iCloud Drive and open it in Files.
•
Email it to yourself and share it from Mail.
•
Or drop it on book2speech.com on your computer: it is waiting in the app’s library when you pick up your phone.

With Speak Screen (built into iOS)

Handy for a page or two. For a whole book with chapters, a narrator you chose and your place saved, use Book2Speech.
1.
Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → turn on Speak Screen.
2.
Open the EPUB in Apple Books.
3.
Swipe down with two fingers from the top of the screen. iOS reads the page in the system voice and turns the pages.

Want the book as a file?

Download the finished audiobook as an M4B with chapters and cover (or M4B, MP3, Opus or WAV) and add it to Apple Books next to the audiobooks you bought.
